I was lucky enough to test this pattern a couple of months ago. The pattern was really easy to understand and took a couple of hours to make from scratch. I used some of my favourite Cath Kidston fabric for the body. Buy them here.

Today I visited the Cath Kidston sale again and after much deliberating came away with a large sewing box. As you can see I have an almost identical smaller version but it hardly held anything. The new one is much much better. Some new purchases also arrived courtesy of ebay, some lovely vintage bias and ric rac. And my lovely boyfriend surprised my by buying me the new Orla Kiely doormat I saw in Heal’s. It’s almost too good to wipe your feet on but it’s too big to frame!

Had a great weekend driving through beautiful country. We went and visited some relatives in Worcestershire and made a weekend of it by staying in a lovely hotel in the heart of the Malverns. After a hearty cooked breakfast we climbed to the top of the British Camp, 338m with great views across Herefordshire and Worcestershire! Then we drove down to Winchcombe and on to Hailes Abbey. I also managed to squeeze in a bit of time for some shopping (hooray!) so I have some new clothes and some beautiful Cath Kidston fabrics to add to my growing stash. I…

We are enjoying spending some sunny days by the sea in Devon. Today I purchased a lovely Lloyd Loom chair which is in desperate need of some tlc. It just about fits in the boot (along with all my other lovely purchases) and I am looking forward to getting it home and covering it with some Cath Kidston fabric. It will look great in our house 🙂

Finally, our last day in our flat! I can’t believe after a whole year of planning we’re finally ready to move into our beautiful Edwardian house. I’m so excited but sad to be leaving our little flat. I’m going to miss living in Zone 2 and I feel like a true Islingtonite through and through. Now we just need to decide how we’re going to spend our last few hours, hopefully watching the new series of Top Gear and a final meal at our favourite local, the Lord Palmerston.

Oh the weekend has gone too quickly! Today we went shopping around Covent Garden and I couldn’t help myself and bought some lovely fabric in the Cath Kidston shop and my very first Blythe! It took me ages to find Blythe but eventually I found a very small one in Forbidden Planet. Then we had a long lunch with some friends at The Crown and Two Chairmen in Soho. I was allowed to choose a new Orla Kiely handbag today but sadly after two trips I just couldn’t decide between them all! I wish my boyfriend wasn’t quite so generous…

Hooray, 9 days until we move. Spent the afternoon walking around Camden market, went to see London: A Life in Maps at the British Library, on to The Angelic for a few drinks before dinner at Angel Mangal, our favourite Turkish restaurant in Angel. I also decided to go back to my lovely old Motorola phone. Despite the beautiful Cath Kidston pattern on my new phone, at the end of the day it was a cheap old Nokia phone that squeaked when opened!
