Icing biscuits at The Biscuiteers

Biscuiteers Icing Workshop

Posted on August 3, 2017 by jenny

Last year I joined in with a very colourful Photo Walk as part of the Blogtacular conference around Kensington. Despite being a Londoner it’s not a part of London that I know very well. It was lovely to explore some of the quieter streets, it was all very Instagrammable! On the walk we went past Biscuiteers. Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore Biscuiteers biscuits. They are my favourite iced biscuits for special occassions.

Did you know that you can go to icing workshops at their shop? Well yesterday the children got to ice specially made biscuits to celebrate the release of The Nut Job 2. We saw a trailer for the film and it certainly looks like a film we will be watching over the holidays.

Biscuiteers have a small little shop with space in the basement for icing. It’s also where their kitchen is and we all enjoyed seeing the dough being cut and baked. You can imagine how wonderful it smelled!

The children were given three biscuits in the shape of Surly, Precious and Andie, all character from the film, to ice.

There were icing bags full of different colours and they were shown how to do a couple of different techniques before being let loose!icing bags at The Biscuiteers

My kids were so excited and tried all the different colours on their biscuits!

I love the look of concentration on their faces! They did a great job piling their biscuits as high as they could with icing! When they had finished their biscuits were whipped away and baked in the oven for 10 minutes to help them set. They were able to take their biscuits home but only 2 made it home to be shown to Daddy!

The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature is out on August 11th.

This looks like so much fun – the perfect rainy afternoon activity, and of course all the better because you can eat the creations! 🙂
