I love trying anything gingerbread – sewing or baking related! A while ago I bought The mini Gingerbread House Kit. I wanted to make cute little gingerbread houses but didn’t realise that the small scale might make it quite so difficult. One of the first problems was that the gingerbread spread whilst cooking so needed to be re-cut whilst cooling. Putting together the gingerbread house was quite difficult but I don’t think our runny icing helped 🙂 They were fun to make but quite fiddily and after putting them together we lost the will to decorate them as suggested. Next…

HiPP Organic recently carried out a nationwide survey to gain the views of the modern day mum. I could relate to some of their findings: 25% of pregnant women claimed to have had no cravings during pregnancy the 2nd trimester is the favourite stage of pregnancy for 63% of HiPP Mums 67% of HiPP mums felt that weaning their baby was fun, exciting or delightful I’ve tried and failed to make food that Edward will eat. I was really excited at the thought of weaning but underestimated how difficult it would be to get Edward to eat the food I…

Today I returned the Flip Ultra we were sent to review and I thought I would take the opportunity to blog what we thought of it. I really enjoyed using the Flip Ultra as it was so easy to use by me, my husband, and extended family. We were surprised by the quality of the videos considering the small size of the Flip Ultra although the quality noticeably degrades when using the digital zoom. The sound quality is good and we loved that the USB was internal. We thought that the plastic screen could be scratched quite easily but it…

Edward still *just* fits in his baby bath but I don’t think we’ll be using it for much longer. I couldn’t resist this little video that daddy took of Edward enjoying himself this evening. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj-qCouA7Rc&fs=1&hl=en_US] We will be returning the Flip Ultra tomorrow. We’ve had a lot of fun using it and got some great videos to keep. We’ll be posting our thoughts on it tomorrow.

I love this little video I took of Edward today. We had lunch at Giraffe and always try to feed Edward before our meals arrive. Edward is at the age where he’s distracted very easily so eating out is a bit of a struggle – it’s fun though 🙂 [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o60RlgfFEYU&fs=1&hl=en_US]

Edward enjoying his breakfast toast – he turned his nose up at his usual porridge with banana![youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMyrg54hkhE&fs=1&hl=en_US] We went swimming today which was great. I was supposed to dunk Edward right under the water twice but I was only brave enough to do it once! I’m not sure he’s completely happy with the dunking aspect of his swimming class but apart from that he loves splashing around. I wish I was able to take some photographs or video of his swimming. Edward spends a lot of the time with his mouth open whilst I swoosh him around. I wonder when…

Having worked for the largest international humanitarian organisation for the last 6 years I know that every little helps. I’ve been able to see exactly how well run campaigns can make a huge difference to those in need, which is why I am happy to support the Oxfam Unwrapped initiative. Since 2004 Oxfam has encouraged people to purchase unique Christmas presents which improve the livelihoods, health and education of people all across the world. I’ve always recycled wrapping paper (something I learned from my nanny!) and generally try to recycle magazines, envelopes and circulars where possible. Every year I also…

I took 22 videos today of Edward as I’ve been trying to capture him moving from sitting to crawling. In the process I’ve taken video of him playing with his toys, shopping in Tesco’s and on the car ferry. He’s been eyeing up my changing bag for a while but today he finally got hold of it and had a good look. He also grabbed my (un-read) copy of Heat. We’re blaming Nanny for his love of magazines as yesterday she gave him a magazine which he quickly shredded – now no magazine is safe!
