This is the first year that I’ve been more interested in our garden. Our garden is a great size with lawn, patio and plenty of space for the children’s toys. I’ve tried a couple of projects, such as upcycling a pallet into a planter and building the children a mud kitchen from another pallet. I was in need of some more inspiration and just at the right time I received a copy of Garden Made to review. Stephanie Rose is the author of the popular gardening blog Garden Therapy. Her blog is easy to read and packed full of fun…

I can’t believe we are 10 days away from the Summer holidays! This term is really rushing by. Top of my list of things which made my happy this is surviving the parents race at Sports Day! I hated Sports Day when I was at school but I’m pleased to say both my children loved theirs this year. I was so happy to be challenged to decorate a teepee by Hobbycraft and write a post for the Hobbycaft blog. We were sent a teepee and some craft supplies and the whole family had lots of fun decorating it. We experimented…

My goal for the first half of this year was to complete the Union flag quilt. A couple of days late but I’m pleased to say this weekend I went to Quilt Camp, otherwise known as my mum’s house, and finished it. I fell in love with the pattern as soon as I saw it in Hexa-Go-Go: English Paper Piecing 16 Quilt Projects by Tacha Bruecher. Union Jack flag quilt I really enjoyed collecting the red, white and blue fabrics for it and picked it up every couple of weeks. My progress was slow but last month I finished piecing…

Fireman Sam was one of the first tv programmes my son was really interested in. It sparked his love of emergency vehicles and transport in general. I remember one year it felt like all he received was Fireman Sam toys and he was able to have many adventures with his very own Pontypandy! He recently received the new Fireman Sam Diecast Vehicle Set from Character Options. The set contains Venus, Neptune and Jupiter and is aimed at children aged 3+. He was quite excited to see this pack and immediately asked if these were to review – you can tell…

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CollectiveBias I’ve carried a Burt’s Bees Beeswax lip balm in my handbag for as long as I can remember. Today I’m sharing a fun kid’s craft inspired by my love of Burt’s Bees products and the wonderful bees we need to encourage. I don’t wear a lot of make-up but I do love to keep my lips soft and nourished and the beeswax in Burt’s Bee products seals in hydration. The products are 99% natural which is why I’m happy to share them…

I bake a lot of cakes with my children but recently we tried something different – jam tarts. I wanted to make it as easy as possible so used ready made short crust pastry. Lightly flour your cutter and cut out as many shapes as you can from…

We were recently sent a box of arts and crafts supplies from Baker Ross. The children really enjoyed opening them as they sent a mixture of fun craft kits and supplies. These foam weather stickers immediately caught our eye. The pack contained around 100 of 24 different designs so the children had fun trying to find them all. I asked them what they wanted to create and they said paper plate weather stations. There aren’t many photographs because this is a quick and easy craft activity. Time to make: 10 minutes Equipment needed to make a paper plate weather station:…

I have a small addiction to San Pellegrino sparkling fruit drinks, especially in the Summer months. The only problem with this is our recycling bin is full of empty cans. I’ve been looking for ways to recycle them and made some hand stamped plant markers for the garden. I don’t have the greenest fingers but this is a great craft for the garden which anyone can do. Time to make: 30 minutes You will need: Empty drinks can Dremmel Tin snips Metal alphabet stamps Centre punch Hammer How to make hand stamped plant markers: I used a Dremmel to cut…
