Easter treats from the Disney Store

How do you celebrate Easter? With the children being off school for 2 weeks (yippee!) we are looking forward to lots of family time. I’ve been busy arranging play dates and days out but I know we’ll have some down time at home too. Easter treats from the Disney Store I’m hoping the weather will be a little warmer so we can spend some time in the garden. My 6 year old is desperate to be outdoors and she loved playing in the snow yesterday. Fortunately my children love to be creative and craft so are always happy to spend…

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week. I can’t believe I’m on Week 180 already! Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things I’m a Section Leader at Beavers and both my children attend our local group. My 8 year old is waiting for a place in Cubs as he’s been a Beaver for 2 years. He’s been working his way through all the badges and last week…

Putting together an Easter crate for kids

How do you celebrate Easter? We get together with family, enjoy delicious long lunches and eat chocolate eggs. This year our family are coming to us and I’ve been planning some family friendly Easter days out in the local area to help everyone walk off those big lunches. I love to put together an Easter crate for my children. I usually bring it out at the start of the Easter holidays as it’s packed with crafts and activities to keep them busy during the school holidays. My children love to be creative so hopefully I have filled it with things…

    FurReal Shaggy Shawn review

What’s the next best thing to getting a real dog? A toy plush dog which you can look after, pet and groom.  Little Sis really wants a dog but it’s just not practical right now. Instead she has to make do with trips to the Dogs Trust London and her cuddly toy collection. Thankfully for her she was kindly sent the FurReal Shaggy Shawn from Hasbro to review. FurReal Shaggy Shawn FurReal Shaggy Shawn is a cute canine in search of a new look! Kids can enjoy styling him over and over again with the help of a buzzer accessory that really buzzes! Kids can…

Everything you need with Smyths 2018 Baby Catalogue

If you’re a parent then you’re probably familiar with Smyths. It’s a huge toy store and we regularly visit our local one as they have a great selection of toys. Whereas me and my husband are happy to shop online it’s no surprise that my children love to visit an actual toy shop. Nothing beats the excitement of walking down an aisle stuffed with the latest toys and choosing a toy to buy. Everything you need with Smyths 2018 Baby Catalogue I find Smyths toys a great experience. They’re big, with wide aisles and it’s easy to find everything. I’m excited…

Games night with Pay Day from Hasbro

Every Friday night we try and spend some time playing a board game or two. The kids are the perfect age for playing board games and I like to think they’re picking up valuable life skills, as well as having fun family time. We have a busy weekend ahead of us so it was really nice to sit down and spend some time together. Games night with Pay Day from Hasbro We were recently sent Pay Day from Hasbro Gaming to try. This is a game of handling finances and I thought my 7 year old would enjoy it. Pay…

New Lego experience at Hamleys London

This morning I popped into the West End to attend an exclusive unveiling of the NEW Lego floor at Hamleys, Regent Street. My children love Hamleys which is the largest and oldest toy shop in the world. Being slap bang in the middle of Regent Street means that Hamleys is usually super busy, especially at the weekend. Set over 7 floors it’s a really fun place to visit, especially for kids. As Lego celebrates it’s 60th anniversary this year it seems well-tiles for Hamleys to give it’s Lego area a makeover. We’ve visited the Lego area before but it was…

    Exogini toys are here!

A few weeks ago we were sent an intriguing box which promised an afternoon of fun for my 7 year old. He received a special box which was just asking to be unboxed. We’d seen the Exogini’s in our local toy store so he was delighted to be sent a special Exogini’s box to open. He pushed the centre of the box which opened to reveal an Exogini playmat, guide to some of the 23 characters as well as a selection of figures. The box doubled as a display unit. You can take a look at our unboxing video to…
