I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s usually a post I love to write but obviously life has changed considerably for us and everyone else in the UK over the last few weeks. Life is hard at the moment for everyone but I still want to try and record some of our happier moments. Monday Happy List {Week 286} It’s been pretty hard trying to…

I can’t believe Easter is only a few days away. Although I’ve been planning everything for weeks it now seems to have snuck up on me. We have lots of chocolate, have planned some delicious meals (hopefully we can buy everything we need), and of course, our annual Easter Egg Hunt! A lot of our decorations are handmade and I love seeing them each year. This year I’ve added some personalised wooden bunny egg holders to our Easter decorations. Personalised wooden bunny egg holders I bought the wooden blanks online, each one has a hole in its tummy, big enough…

We’ve been doing a lot of baking recently. I don’t know about you but we’ve always enjoyed baking, and now we have a lot more time on our hands. We are all excited that we have Easter to celebrate, especially as every day pretty much feels the same right now. Easter is the perfect excuse for dusting off my recipe book to re-discover my traditional recipe for Easter biscuits. This is a simple recipe which I first made at school many years ago. It’s a classic Easter biscuit recipe that provides a delicious Easter treat for the whole family. Ingredients…

With Easter only a few days away I’ve had to up my crafting game. This is proving quite difficult with having to home educate my children! However, we love celebrating Easter and I want to make a special effort to create something fun this year. We always hold an Easter Egg Hunt and this year I wanted to make new signs to use for an outdoor Easter Egg Hunt (or indoors if the weather is bad). You all know how much I love my Cricut Maker so looked for free Easter Egg Hunt svg files. I found a really fun…

I love Easter and it’s a holiday I look forward to for weeks. Sadly, due to lockdown we will not be visiting family and friends, but we will still be celebrating at home. Spring is a lovely time of year and we are all enjoying the longer, warmer days. The children have re-discovered the garden and we are watching the flowers come back to life. We’ve shared some really fun Easter crafts for kids with you and couldn’t resist telling you about our recycled cardboard chick craft for kids. Our recycling bin is always full, and some corrugated cardboard inspired…

Did you do anything to mark April Fool’s Day today? We don’t usually do anything but this year my 10 year old wanted to play a joke on each member of the family. His ideas were fun, ranging from switching the tea and coffee jars around in the cupboard to annoy me, changing the dust covers on the books his sister is reading, and pretending he broke his dad’s RC car. The jokes were well thought out and made us all giggle. I wanted to play a small April Fool’s Day joke on the kids. I know many people are…

I’ve always been a huge advocate on the benefits of crafting. I love to have a couple of projects on the go and find they are a great way of soothing my mind after a long day. It doesn’t matter if it’s creative colouring, hand sewing, paper cutting or trying something new on my Cricut – I love the act of creating something, especially if I can put the finished piece up on the wall, or gift it to someone. If you want to find out more about the benefits then read 4 reasons craft is good for you on…

It’s usually a post I love to write but obviously life has changed considerably for us and everyone else in the UK over the last few weeks. It’s a bit of a cliche but I do love this quotation by Alice Morse Earle: “Every day may not be good…but there’s something good in every day”. Life is hard…
