I’m so glad we’re back in our ‘normal’ routine – as normal as life can be with a baby and toddler. The little man is back at his school twice a week which means I get a couple of hours with the baby. We’ve just started going to a weekly music class and it is lovely doing something together and getting out of the house.
However the end of summer means getting back to our plans of moving. We’re doing all those small jobs around the house which we’ve ignored since moving in 5 years ago. We’ve replaced the broken meter cover, been tidying up the garden, and have bought paint to make the hall and stairs look good – well I didn’t say any of the jobs were fun!
We’ve also been de-cluttering, mainly in the name of preserving our sanity as we seem to be constantly tripping over things and hardly dare open a cupboard for fear of the contents falling out. It’s amazing what you accumulate. By far our biggest problem is toys and baby equipment. I have boxes of baby clothes I can’t bear to part with, especially as both the children have worn them now. But I know they have to go, as do the baby bath, baby bouncer and all the things the 11 month is growing out of.
As well as our tidying up the husband has been going through all our bills to make sure we’re being money savvy. I admit I’ve been thinking about Christmas presents and how we’re going to afford it, so every penny counts right now. He has a long list, compare home insurance is right at the top due to our recent blocked drain which I won’t go into detail about!
