Tony’s Chocolonely Chocolate Bar

{Amsterdam} Tony’s Chocolonely Chocolate Bar

Posted on August 26, 2022April 25, 2024 by jenny

A few years ago we had a day trip to Amsterdam from Wassennaar. I love Amsterdam but it wasn’t so much fun with two kids. So when we planned another day trip to Amsterdam we made sure to do our research on fun places to explore with kids.

If you’re looking for fun things to do with kids in Amsterdam then I have a few recommendations. Our kids love travelling so whilst we arrived in Amsterdam by train at Amsterdam Centraal we knew we wanted to try the trams. They were super easy to use and a great way to see some of the sights of Amsterdam.

We had a much better experience second time around. The kids were slightly older so were interested in exploring the beautiful Beginhof and a trip on the canals. Of course there was also time for a trip to the amazing Amsterdam Lego shop which had some really fun Lego builds, from famous Dutch paintings made from Lego bricks to a Lego brick windmill and typical Dutch houses. The kids had fun which meant we had fun too. Amsterdam is a lovely city to explore with kids. Of course after all that exploring we need some refreshments, so stopped off at Tony’s Chocolonely Chocolate Bar, minutes from Dam Square.

I’m sure you’ve heard or tasted Tony’s Chocolonely before. Tony’s Chocolonely chocolate is fair trade and on a mission to make chocolate worldwide fair trade. You can try some delicious Tony’s Chocolonely at the Tony’s Chocolonely Chocolate Bar at Damrak 123 in central Amsterdam.

Downstairs is a fun shop where you can buy all the products, upstairs is a dream come true for every chocolate fan. Everything’s about chocolate and you’ll be able to learn everything about Tony’s serious mission while enjoying crazy delicious choco-creations.

The menu was pretty exciting but we opted for waffles – waffle heaven – and milkshakes. Yes, that was a lot of sweet stuff but we had walked a lot that day!

The pancakes were deliciously light and fluffy and demolished in seconds.

It was lovely to sit and relax after our busy day exploring in Amsterdam.

The decor was fun and colourful and gave us a chance to learn more about the brand whilst tasting it! We would definitely recommend a trip to Tony’s Chocolonely Chocolate Bar, Amsterdam!

I had never really thought about exploring Amsterdam with kids but it sounds like there is lots to do as a family! Tony’s looks amazing (I love their chocolate too) and definitely somewhere I would have to visit in we went.

I had my first Tony’s chocolate bar a couple of years ago and I was genuinely shocked by how good it was! This looks like a dreamy place to visit.
