blogging Cath Kidston crafts handmade Orla Kiely vintage

A grand day out

Today was my birthday! It’s very strange having a birthday when you have children – no lie in and no leisurely opening of presents for me! However, I enjoyed opening my gifts with the little people and their infectious smiles and giggles. My son may have even opened a present or two for me.

A grand day out

I had a lovely day. This morning we headed to Covent Garden for a lovely crafty blogging event to learn more about Stampin’ Up. I really enjoyed learning about paper craft and was able to make two beautiful cards whilst the children were entertained. I’ll be telling you more about these lovely products soon.

After the event my husband met us and we had a yummy lunch at Jamie’s Italian in Covent Garden. Big Brother was very well behaved although he enjoyed more of my lunch than his own.

I was allowed a look in my two favourite shops. First stop was Orla Kiely in Monmouth Street. Whilst my husband watched the children I was able to look at the handbags at my leisure. So many lovely designs. I could hear my son running around upstairs though so cut my browsing short.

Then it was on to Cath Kidston in Shelton Street, again my husband looking after the children so I could look round uninterrupted. Lots of things caught my eye, like these pretty bracelets made from vintage fabrics.

I also liked this embroidered bag. I’ve seen something similar in one of Cath Kidston’s books but it was made from vintage embroidered tablecloths and hankies. I’ve been hoarding similar fabrics so I can attempt my own version soon.

A lovely birthday spent with my favourite people, and cheap as, for once, I didn’t buy half of Cath Kidston!
