Starting my week with The Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.

The Weekly Edit {Week 25/2026}

I took a half day last week to go shopping with my big teen. He needed smart clothes for Sixth Form and didn’t have anything suitable. He was quite good fun to go shopping with and we came home with a big bag of new clothes.

The other teen and I went to see Hunger Games On Stage at the Troubadour Canary Wharf Theatre. I loved the books and films so was looking forward to watching the show. The theatre has been specially designed for the show with dynamic seating around the arena, which makes you feel as though you are watching the action, right at the heart of Panem.

I started a new cross stitch kit from Cotton Clara, which features a tin of sardines. I said I wouldn’t do another cross stitch as I find them so small and tricky to find the right place to stitch. However, I started using a magnifying lamp which makes a big difference and al to easier to see what I’m doing.

 

Last week I mentioned that I had started reading The Valley of Ravens by Barbara Erskine. The story is set in the Welsh Marches/border country, where we will be next month. The story is really good and I’ve been reading it whenever I can. This is the twelfth book I have read in 2026, so it’s looking like I will be able to reach the target I set myself for the 2026 Goodreads Reading Challenge.
