Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the little or big things that made me smile in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures.
Five Happy Things {Week 44/2025}
The kids have a two week half term (!) so spent the week at home relaxing mainly. Big Brother has been working his way through his Year 11 homework and Little Sis went to a couple of art classes to keep her busy.
We popped to Ikea as Little Sis decided she needed to update her bedroom. She got rid of old open shelving units and we replaced them with white drawers and a cute bookcase to display her favourite things. We have taken many bags to the charity shop as she had a good clear out, and now her rooms feels like the perfect chill room for a teen.
They both carved the pumpkins we picked up at the Pop Up Pumpkin Farm a few weeks ago. Little Sis went out on Halloween and came back with a huge haul of sweets. We didn’t have many people knock on our door, probably because the weather was insanely wet and windy.
We bought a kit to make our own toffee apples and it ended up being a good activity for the teens. We melted some caramel so they could dip their apples in it, then they covered them in biscuit crumbs and sprinkles, before letting them set in the fridge. It feels like we’ve spent a lot of time together this week which has been really lovely.
I stitched a little Christmassy banner from Love Embroidery magazine. I love a short make and had already stitched the panel. I whipped it into a little banner which will make a great Christmas tree decoration.

Yay to the two weeks half term, my youngest only got a week. It sounds like a good week! The toffee apples look great!
We had a week and 2 days. 1 week holidays and then 2 days off for teacher training or something. I do love a trip to IKEA
I love the idea of home made candy applies…. and looks like a lot of fun too. The pumpkin above is absolutely adorable too and I love fall so much!
We haven’t had toffee apples in absolutely years! Will have to do them at home with the kids one weekend
