Five Happy Things

Five Happy Things {Week 42/2025}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the little or big things that made me smile in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures.

Last week we went to watch Mel Brooks’ The Producers at The Garrick Theatre in London. It was a great production, I hadn’t seen the film, and I loved the songs.

The teens went into London with their Scout group for the day. They spent the morning at the Science Museum and then went to the trampoline park after lunch. They were so tired by the time we picked them up at the end of the day.

We made pumpkin soup with one of the pumpkins we picked at The Pop Up Farm last weekend. Every year we say we will do something with the pumpkins we pick and never do. This year we looked up recipes before we went, and made sure to pick a good pumpkin to cook with. We roasted the pumpkin then made soup with it and it tasted really good.

We collected the ceramic pumpkins we made at Wick and Ceramic a few weeks ago. We haven’t put our Halloween decorations up yet but are enjoying our little pumpkins.

For some reason the teens have stopped coming out with us to walk the dog at the weekend. So we’ve been making an effort to go out on family dog walks – to make sure they help with the dog and get some much needed fresh air. This weekend we did our favourite loop around Harefield, which I’m sure everyone enjoyed.
