Biscuits fit for a Queen

Posted on February 6, 2012 by jenny

There’s a  whiff of patriotism in the air today at the gingerbread house thanks to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

I picked up some fantastic new cookie cutters at the weekend from Lakeland. The 3 crown cookie cutters are, according to their website, the ‘crowning’ glory of any afternoon tea table, cookies made with our trio of cutters will lend a regal air no matter what the occasion. Perfect to help celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. I absolutely love them and knocked up a quick batch of gingerbread biscuits.

The image of the finished biscuits in the Lakeland magazine look amazing so the next step for me is to learn to ice them properly. I’m going to have to make that my mission by the time the Diamond Jubilee weekend comes around in June.

This weekend I also had a lovely look round the Cath Kidston shop in Covent Garden and grabbed the latest copy of the Cath Kidston magazine. The London Calling theme is perfect for celebrating the Best of British and I love the new design featuring repeats of Stanley, the Union flag and a crown. I bought myself a new holder for my oyster card which I love.

I can’t wait to get my hands on some more Royal memorabilia this year!

I bought the same cookie cutters, they are fab. I decorated mine with Dr Oetker’s icing pens. If you fancy to have a look, the link to my blog post is http://www.chezmaximka.blogspot.com/2012/02/lavenders-blue.html

Also I have a question: who has won r.Dahl’s stamps sets please? I can never find anything on the blog, do you usually put the info on the original post or have a separate post announcing winners? Thank you!

Love your biscuits, they look so pretty 🙂

The names of the winners are added to the bottom of the original competition post but I also contact winners directly via email/twitter too.
