Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 523}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.

Five Happy Things {Week 523}

My kids both have a two week half term at this time of year. We spent 4 days in Paris and packed in a lot! We managed to squeeze in the Eiffel Tower, a trip along the river, the Louvre Museum, the Musée d’Orsay, Le Marais district as well as Monmartre and Sacre Coeur. We walked a lot. The weather was warm and sunny which definitely made for a memorable trip.

As soon as we returned from our trip to Paris the kids both went hillwalking in Snowdonia National Park with Scouts. It’s not often they are both away at the same time and the house has been very quiet without them.

Recently a Browns Brasserie and Bar opened in our village so we took the opportunity for a quiet lunch without the kids.  I had a delicious roast dinner, it was so lovely not to have to cook.

I packed three small embroidery projects when we went away which I thought was quite ambitious. However I managed to finish two of them! You can tell the kids are older as they were happy to read on watch films on their iPads, which meant I was also able to relax on the train journey to Paris.

I managed to spill a hot drink all over the book I was reading so treated myself to a new book, The Mistletoe Mystery, A Maid Novella. I recently finished The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose so knew I would enjoy this too.

  1. That’s awesome that you got two of your three projects completed. I’d love to take a trip to Paris. It’s been awhile since we’ve been.
