RHS Collage the Botanical World 1,000+ Fantastic & Floral Images to Cut Out & Collage

{book review} RHS Collage the Botanical

Posted on May 29, 2024May 29, 2024 by jenny

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, organised by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), is one of the most renowned and prestigious gardening events in the world. As well as seeing world-class gardens displays, seek expert advice and workshops, as well as the immersive cultural experience of attending RHS Chelsea, which we were able to do for the first time this year. We are both keen gardeners, and were happy to receive a copy of RHS Collage the Botanical which is published this week.

RHS Collage the Botanical World 1,000+ Fantastic & Floral Images to Cut Out & Collage

A collage is an artistic composition made by assembling various materials onto a single surface. These materials can include paper, fabric, photographs, magazine clippings, and other objects. The technique allows for a creative and often abstract arrangement of disparate elements to form a unified whole. It’s a craft that we’ve tried before and really enjoyed.

In this unique sourcebook for keen collagers, let your creativity bloom as you roam wild through over 1000 images from the incredible RHS image archives. The stunning collection of images range from vintage botanical art to curious scientific images, and from colourful florals to fruit and vegetables. All ready to be cut out and added to your collage!

You can choose a background image in various different sizes from the book—or combine images to create a new one. Just grab scissors, cutting mat, paper, scalpel and glue and begin assembling your own unique artwork! My daughter was intrigued by this book and helped me pick out some images. Let’s just say she picked really tricky ones for me to cut! I used a paper cutting scalpel as well as scissors.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or you’re collaging for the very first time, this is a full and flourishing sourcebook that will add an inspired touch of the botanical to your creation. You can create your own collage pictures or use a background to create a scene. You can also add cut out pictures to cards, tins or even wooden boxes which would make a great handmade gift.

RHS Collage the Botanical World 1,000+ Fantastic & Floral Images to Cut Out & Collage also features collaging tips from Katy McNulty. RHS Collage the Botanical book is published by Frances Lincoln priced at £16.99, follow this link here to purchase from Waterstones, Bookshop.org and all good bookshops.
