On the 19 September 2010 I started a Day Zero list: a place to record your goals, discover new challenges, and gain motivation to achieve them. I have a list of 100 things I want to do over 1001 days. The list is due to be competed by 16 June 2013.
This has been a rubbish month for me personally. I think I underestimated how much time I would have with a toddler and new baby to look after so I haven’t managed to complete a single action on my Day Zero list. Aside from changing lots of nappies and wiping runny noses I did manage to make some mince pies and sew a gingerbread house for the Very Berry Scrappy Christmas Swap.
The idea was to make a Christmas ornament using mostly fabric scraps: cotton, felt, sparkly satins and silks – whatever you had in your stash. I love sewing with felt so chose to make a gingerbread house ornament from my felt stash, using a favourite pattern from craft ideas. I jazzed it up with some of my favourite gingerbread notions on the front and back of the house.
I received a lovely clothes peg angel from my swap partner Karen who blogs at Christmas Creative. The angel was quickly attached to the top of our Christmas tree as Big Brother destroyed the star we had used for years!
I’m hoping thing will settle down soon (aka Little Sis WILL have a bedtime routine) and I’ll regain some me time to sew.

December 31, 2011 at 3:48 pmThat’s such a sweet little house Jenny, and I love the angel too. I am just about to pinch the pictures for a round up on my blog. Hope you managed a peaceful and relaxing Christmas – you still have plenty of time to complete your Day Zero challenges… it’s so hard mothering a baby and a toddler!
