My daughter has had her Pokemon trading card collection out over the holidays to sort them. All Pokémon cards depict one or multiple Pokémon from the Pokémon video games series, and they specify a name, an elemental type, a move set and/or ability, and a certain amount of HP. To be honest she has never really played the game, she just loves to collect and swap them with her friends! She has a lot of trading cards and a lot of duplicate cards so I suggested she try crafting with them. She came up with an easy Pokemon trading card craft for kids.
Pokemon trading card craft for kids
You will need:
Pokemon trading cards (at least two of the same card)
Sharp scissors, older kids can use a scalpel
Bostik foam pads
Carefully choose some Pokemon trading cards you don’t want any more, ensure you have two of them. The top panel features the Pokemon character and you need to carefully cut it out using small, sharp scissors or a scalpel.
My daughter is nearly 11 and is able to use a scalpel although I sat with her the whole time she was using it. She carefully cut round the outline of the character. Then she discarded the rest of the Pokemon card.
She flipped the character over and placed sticky pads on the back. You could use one, my daughter decided to use as many as she could fit!
Then remove the paper backing from the sticky foam pads and place the cut out on a duplicate card.
This makes the Pokemon character really pop out and you have a sweet 3D Pokemon trading card craft.
My daughter loved this simple Pokemon trading card craft for kids and spent a few happy hours cutting up her duplicate trading cards.
You could frame a really special card or give to friends. She placed hers in a spare trading card album so she could look after them.
