Monday Happy List {Week 348}

Posted on June 14, 2021 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 348}

It felt like a long week after an amazing half term away. It was hard to get back into work, especially as I had a short week. I had an interview on Friday for a job I really wanted. It is hard to put yourself out there and I was so disappointed not to get the job. I had to do an admin task which went well but I got really tongue-tied in the interview. Hopefully the interview will give me confidence for next time.

My daughter had a really fun playdate with a friend after school. They have an inflatable pool and they spent hours plashing in the water. It was such a fun way to cool down in the hot weather and tired her out too!

canal at Harefield

On Saturday we went for a walk along the canal at Harefield and had lunch at the Coy Carp. We found loads of elderflower along the way so picked elderflower blossoms to make our own elderflower cordial. It’s easy to make and you can store in ice cubes to use throughout the summer months.

I picked up a few sewing projects last week but felt a little meh about them. I bought a few pre-printed panels from Kit & Co. so stitched the poppy embroidery panel. It gave me all the satisfaction of some sewing I needed, but without having to think too much about it.

Have a great week!

    I’m so sorry to hear that you didn’t get the job. Sometimes if you do get nervous it helps to role play the sort of questions you might be asked and answering them in advance with a friend. I used to interview loads of people, the more prepared you are the better x

    Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. When I was a child I used to go elderflower picking as well. My mom used to make juice out of it, by fermenting it with honey and lemons. It took about a week to get ready, but it was such a refreshing summer drink.

    I’m so sorry you didn’t get the job – I can’t imagine going to a job interview now, I don’t think I would do well at all!

    Sounds like you had a lovely walk down the canal at Harefield followed by lunch. We went to look for elderflower blossoms over the weekend but could not find any. Hope to find some as my children love drinking the cordial as well.

    I’m sorry you didn’t get the job. It definitely did seem like a long week to get to the weekend after a fab half term, didn’t it?

    Last year before the lockdown started in March, I prepared myself for the interviews! But then COVID happened and all went in vain ☹️ I hope, you get your dream job soon, good luck ❤️

    Love the idea of a happy list! I definitely agree with you that it is super hard to get back into things or routine after a break away. Sorry to hear you didnt get the job however I love that you have taken something positive from the experience and I am sure the next interview you do you will totally smash it. x

    I’m sorry to hear about the interview, but you’re right hopefully it will give you confidence for the next one, sometimes you just need a bit of practice getting yourself back out there x
