Monday Happy List {Week 335}

Posted on March 15, 2021 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 335}

Last week was a little strange with both my kids back to school. They were both so happy to see all their friends again and were kept busy with their sports clubs. This term Little sis is trying football and archery and she really enjoyed them both. I had to buy her *all* the football kit so I’m hoping she will enjoy it for a while!

We had a mini crafting session by making Pi Day necklaces using hama beads. The children re-created pi in the colourful beads and threaded them along embroidery thread to create really pretty necklaces.

On Saturday we visited Kew Gardens for the first time since the kids were really little. We fancied going for a walk somewhere new and really wanted to see some beautiful spring flowers. We discovered they had an amazing children’s playground so the children were really happy they got to climb and play. Then we had time to explore the gardens, re-visiting some of our favourites places like the Japanese Pagoda. They had an amazing installation called The Hive which was very impressive. We finished off our visit with a delicious ice cream just as the hail started to fall.

My son celebrates his 11th birthday this week and we started the celebrations early with a delicious takeaway from Five Guys today. His birthday party was cancelled last year and he’s upset that he will have another lockdown birthday. Hopefully he will still have a lovely day and enjoy being at school with his friends.

More Post Box toppers have appeared in Hillingdon this week. We were delighted to find an Easter themed one on the High Street and passed a few more in the car. Hopefully we will have a chance to walk round and find more of them during the Easter holidays.

Have a great week everyone.

    That’s so good that the kids have been happy to go back to school, it must be so nice for them to be able to see their friends again. I’ve only been to Kew Gardens once at Christmas so I’m keen to try and go this summer if we can x

    Archery, wow that’s interesting. They really must of enjoyed seeing their friends again – think a lot of children missed that social aspect. I’d love to visit Kew Gardens once the weather is drier x

    I haven’t been to Kew Gardens in years now – I would love to visit again as it is such a lovely place. It is strange having the kids back at school but much needed I feel.
