I’ve had the most amazing blog break over Christmas and New Year. Not that we stopped crafting (I have a lot to share!) but it was lovely to switch off and relax. We love to bake and craft and whipped up quite a few batches of gingerbread over the holidays. They inspired our handprint gingerbread man. It was so easy to make and provided some much-needed messy fun!
Easy handprint gingerbread man
All you need to craft your own handprint gingerbread man is white card, brown paint, as well as black and red pens.
First cover your child’s hand with the brown paint. We used a sponge to lightly cover the hand but you could also use a paint brush, or fill a small tray with paint and dip the hand in.
Make sure the hand is covered evenly in paint and press the hand gently down onto the card. You may need to gently press your child’s hand down to ensure all parts of the hand touch the card. You will see that my son kept his middle three fingers together, with the other two fingers slightly pushed out.
Leave the card to dry fully before you add the gingerbread man’s features. We added two black eyes, two pink cheeks and a rosy red nose and black mouth to our handprint gingerbread man, and also drew around the whole handprint to give him a little definition.
I love our little handprint gingerbread man. He makes a super cute decoration but would also look great on a Christmas card.
