Monday Happy List {Week 309}

Posted on September 14, 2020 by jenny

I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 309}

The children both had a full week at school which was tiring but amazing. They are both so happy to be back and it’s wonderful to hear them full of chatter after a busy day. A lot of their clubs started up too and it was good to get them into bed at a reasonable time.

I don’t work on Mondays. This is my day to do the school run, catch up on housework and have some time to myself. I went shopping (and started my Christmas shopping!) and went for to a coffee shop which was really nice.

We’re trying to make the most of the evenings as they seem to be getting darker earlier and earlier. We managed a few walks with the puppy and re-visited our geocache hidden at the Battle of Britain House in Ruislip Woods. It’s been found by quite a few people now and it’s great that people are discovering the history of the area. Every time we visit the area looks so different and it was really over grown. We found some blackberries which we picked and made into a crumble!

Draw with Rob

The children were really looking forward to Rob Biddulph’s new Saturday #DrawWithRob. We all sat down to follow along on Saturday morning and drew a robot. The children both have special notebooks for their drawings and love learning how to draw different characters.

Yesterday we finally managed to get tickets to re-visit Hughenden, our local National Trust house and gardens. Unfortunately the house is closed but the gardens are open and we loved exploring. It was quite different to our last visit so I wrote about what you can expect if you visit Hughenden in 2020.

Have a great week everyone.

    I hope you love Hughenden as much as I did, it’s not local to me but when I remember driving there and loving it very much.

    Geocaching sounds like fun and somethingthe kids would enjoy. I must look into downloading an app for it and having a go.

    I can’t wait for the National Trust to open all the houses back up rather than the gardens but I think it’s going to be a while. I’m intrigued by the idea of geocaching if I can get the kids out of the house!

    I am interested in geocaching but I am not sure if that is even a thing yet in my country. I will have to find out about that. Thanks for sharing your Monday Happy List. That is a nice habit to form with the kids.

    Ours like yours have also gone back to school and yes do agree that the day is getting shorter everyday. Thanks for the prompt on Rob Biddulph and his new #DrawWithRob on Saturdays. We will need to check this out as they love drawing with him.
