One thing I’ve really missed over the last few months is a trip to the cinema. With cinemas closed we’ve been having the odd movie night. I love to lose myself in a good film, especially when the kids are in bed and I can watch uninterrupted. Last night I got the chance to watch Military Wives which was released just as we were going into lockdown so I never got the chance to watch it. It’s safe to say I absolutely loved the film. I belong to a choir myself and am a huge advocate of the benefits of singing!

Military Wives film

Military Wives is the feel-good film and inspirational story of friendship, love, and support on the home front. A group of women come together as their partners serve in Afghanistan.

Together they form the very first military wives choir, helping each other through some of life’s most difficult moments and also becoming a media sensation and global movement in the process. The critically acclaimed film is available to own on Digital Download from 29th June and Blu-ray & DVD from 6th July 2020.

Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty) directs Oscar Nominee and BAFTA Winner Kristin Scott Thomas (Darkest Hour) and BAFTA Nominee Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe) star in this feel good crowd-pleaser. The film also stars, Greg Wise (A Private War) and Jason Flemyng (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels). Rounding out the cast and playing the military wives are Emma Lowndes (Downton Abbey), Gaby French (Victoria), Lara Rossi (Robin Hood), Amy James-Kelly (Safe) and India Ria Amarteifio (Line of Duty).

The film features a score penned by BAFTA Nominee and Mission: Impossible-Fallout composer, Lorne Balfe and a brand-new track for the official soundtrack, ‘Home Thoughts From Abroad’, written by Robbie Williams and long-time collaborator Guy Chambers.

Military Wives will be released on Digital Download from 29th June and Blu-ray & DVD from 6th July.
