Calorie-less biscuits?

I’ve been dying to try my hand at felt biscuits ever since I saw them on the cover of Mollie Makes, which were designed by Ouissi Gresty. The patterns were quite simple so I bought a copy of her book ‘Felt biscuits’ but I found it a bit disappointing. It’s a small book and only covers patterns for five biscuits (pink wafer, bourbon, shortcake, custard creams and a jam sandwich) but does include a pattern for a biscuit tray and tin. Personally I would have liked more biscuit patterns (garibaldi, rich tea, chocolate digestive, etc) or the patterns which featured in Mollie Makes, rather than the biscuit tray. The book is nicely illustrated but the page numbers don’t match with the instructions and it just feels like it’s been written in a hurry.

However, I love my felt biscuits which totally confused Edward when I put them on a plate to photograph! They’re also a lovely simple project which don’t need much concentration if you fancy making some whilst catching up on Sunday night tv.

  1. I love the pink wafers… am so sorry that the book was a disappointment. Have you tried looking at your local council library reservations, I have found some fabulous books on the Essex library system and for us it is free 🙂

  2. Your post did make me laugh though, I could hear the desperation in your voice or maybe it echoes mine when I open the cupboard at 3pm. Sorry about the book, but be pleased with the great ones you have made!

  3. I’m still really fascinated with felting, but have yet to try it. Those are so pretty. Every time I read about it I’m more and more inclined to try it. I suppose I will have to get off the computer, stop reading about it and actually do it tho. 🙂
