I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List, especially my special Summer Holidays edition. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. Last week just flew by with the children going back to school and me going back to work.
Monday Happy List {Week 256}
Reading
I raced through The Confessions by Jessie Burton, I really couldn’t put it down. My latest book is The Animals at Lockwood Manor by Jane Healey. Set in August 1939, a lonely thirty-year-old Hetty Cartwright arrives at Lockwood Manor as the director of the evacuated Natural History Museum. It’s really good so far, I’m just hoping I have as much time to read now I’m back at work.
I’ve been busy re-organising my bookshelves thanks to the books I’ve been sent recently. It was time to weed out some and add some new books so I thought it would be fun to see what they looked like in colour order. I love the finished look! Last week I reviewed The Organised Mum Method and don’t forget I’m giving away a copy of The Confessions of Frannie Langton.
Making
I’ve really missed crafting over the summer holidays. I was so busy keeping the kids occupied that there wasn’t much time left for me. I’ve had a few craft boxes begin to stack up and so I opened my MakeBox+Co over the weekend. I love rainbows and was excited to try rope weaving to create some rainbow wall art. It was actually quite a quick craft and perfect to do whilst watching the Strictly launch show!
Things to do in London
My daughter just loves riding her bike. She keeps asking to go out on her bike now she can ride without stabilisers so we went out after school almost every day last week. Yesterday we went on our longest ride yet around Ruislip Woods which the kids loved. I don’t have a bike so I just walked but it was lovely to be out as the weather was so good. The Lido was packed with families and dog walkers and we can’t wait to go back soon.
Have a great week everyone!

September 9, 2019 at 5:39 pmHow cool is that rope weaving rainbow! It is so pretty I bet it brightens up the wall it is hung on so well! It sounds like you are having some great times just being outdoors as well.
