I seem to have spent the last few days sewing labels on everything. I like to think of myself as quite organised but getting two kids ready to go back to school is always a larger job than it should be. However we have bought the shoes, ordered last minute uniform items and packed pencil cases. We are ready! Which means we can spend the last few days of the school holidays crafting.
Bostik kindly gifted up their Micro Dots to use and they were really easy to use in our craft stick pencil bookmark. This is a fun little DIY which is perfect to get kids in the mood for going back to school.
To make our craft stick pencil bookmark you will need:
5 yellow craft sticks
Bostik Mirco Dots
White and pink card
Scissors
Black pen

How to make a craft stick pencil bookmark
To make your pencil bookmark lay 5 yellow craft sticks in a row. If you don’t have yellow craft sticks then you can colour a plain stick with colouring pens. Remove the backing from a sheet of Micro Dots and place the sticky side down on the craft sticks, pressing down to transfer the glue to the craft sticks.

Remove the sheet and one by one place the craft sticks on the white card, lining up with the long edge. Trim the white card as necessary.

Cut a small rectangle from the pink card, apply the Micro Dots to one side, and place over the bottom of the craft sticks.

To complete your craft stick pencil bookmark trim the card to a point and colour in a point in black pen to make the pencil lead.

Your craft stick pencil bookmark is now complete. Personalise with your chid’s name and place it in a book to encourage them to keep reading over the summer holidays!

This is so clever – and something I definitely need to do as a craft activity with my book-loving nephews!
Oh wow this is so cute! Simple but very very clever! My daughter would love this!
