Summer holidays weekly vlog

Monday Happy Things {Week 151}

Posted on August 21, 2017 by jenny

Our Summer holidays are whizzing by. I can’t believe we’ve had four weeks of adventures already. We were really lucky to go away for a few days and have a change of scene. It was lovely to do normal things, like watch films at home and take the kids to the park. We wanted to help my daughter ride her bike without her stabilisers but let’s just say, she was a little reluctant!

Whist we were away we visited The Courts Garden, Holt and the Fairy and Dragon Grotto at Whitehall Garden Centre. We’d never been to The Courts Garden before but it was beautiful and the perfect place for the kids to run around. We’ve been to Whitehall Garden Centre before as they have a pop up ice rink. Over the Summer they had a Fairy and Dragon Grotto you could walk through. My daughter loves fairies and enjoyed the treasure hunt, looking for different fairies.

We’ve been working with Playmobil for a while and were delighted to receive some of the new Playmobil How To Train Your Dragon sets to review. It was also a great excuse to watch How to Train Your Dragon 1 and 2 again.

My children spent a few days at Holiday Camp which gave us time to go and buy a new car (not very exciting) and go shopping at Westfield London (definitely exciting). We had lunch at Five Guys and lusted over the new Lego London Bus set – but talked ourselves out of it.

I bought myself a new papercutting book which I’m determined to cut. I’ve also been stitching some of the items in the latest Craftpod subscription box and have made some of my own stamps. Now sure how I squeezed in so much crafting but I did.

We ended the week with an impromptu trip to Cassiobury Park. Even though it’s only 20 minutes away it’s been years since we last visited and a lot had changed. We went on the miniature railway and the children went crazy in the water park. I didn’t know there was a water park so said they could paddle. You can probably guess that they both fell in and ended up going home in their pants and the picnic blanket!

I’ve started getting uniform ready for back to school. I can’t believe there are only 2 weeks left of the holidays. You can watch a vlog of week 4 of our Summer holidays here, I think it is my favourite little video yet:

    It looks like you’ve had a great week. I loved your Playmobil dragons review, definitely products that will make it into our Christmas list here.
