Is it just me or are watermelons everywhere at the moment? My kids keep asking for them and they’ve been appearing at every picnic, birthday party or BBQ we go to. So it’s perhaps not surprising that watermelon have slipped into our crafting this week with this fun paper plate watermelon craft. We *love* crafting with paper plates and I think this is one of our favourites yet.

How to make a paper plate watermelon
This was a perfect craft for my 5 year old. She snipped the coloured tissue paper into small pieces, covered the centre of the paper plate with glue and placed the red tissue paper on it.
Then she did the same with the green tissue paper around the outside.
When it had all dried she added the watermelon pips with a black permanent pen.
Then she cut out a chunk to eat!
