Duck Tape watermelon school supplies

I love crafting with Duck Tape and the transition to back to school seems like a pretty good time to have some fun with Duck Tape. We have a huge stash so I was just able to raid my supplies for this quick and easy DIY.

Both my kids are crazy about watermelons at the moment, they would eat them all the time if they could. My youngest enjoyed making a paper plate watermelon so this time I whipped up some school supplies for my eldest. He’s starting a new school on Tuesday so I thought he would enjoy a new pencil case, notepad and pencils – all decorated with our own Duck Tape watermelon tape. They were so quick and easy that I’m going to share my tips for updating your school supplies with Duck Tape.

I chose red and green tapes from the range and used a clear pencil case. I covered the top part with one strip of green tape, and the rest with the red tape, making sure to smooth down any edges with my fingers.

I did the same with the front cover of the notebook, then added the watermelon pips with a black sharpie.

I loved the way they looked and decided to add a watermelon pencil case to complete the look. I covered it exactly the same way with a strip of green tape at the top, then a red strip for the bottom. You can position the red tape slightly over the green tape to make the stripe thinner.

It’s amazingly versatile stuff isn’t it? We used it in a world cup crafting project some years ago and it looked fab.

oh this is a clever idea. We have never tried duck tape crafts. I’ll have to add it to my list of crafts to try with Sylvia. 🙂
