Monday Happy Things {Week 144}

Posted on July 3, 2017 by jenny

We are definitely feeling that the end of term is coming. Every thing is finishing which is kind of satisfying but also scary because that means the summer holidays! My son has handed in his school library book for the last time, finished his handwriting book and had his last Gardening Club session. Only 3 weeks left and still so much to squeeze in!

It’s time for my Monday Happy Things post – the 5 things which made me really happy in the last 7 days.

My to do list is always long but I’ve excelled myself by buying some uniform for my son who starts Juniors in September! I always do this last minute and have to go to *all* the shops as there’s nothing left. This year I am buying everything before the summer holidays (except maybe school shoes).

On Thursday I went into London and visited Liberty to see their new and improved haberdashery department. I’m a huge fan of Liberty and have always enjoyed a browse around their fabrics. The Makery can be found on the third floor and I was able to chat to some of the Liberty London design team, as well as meet some of their new friends such as Abigail Brown, Floss & Mischief and Petra Boase.

Whilst I was in the West End I had to visit Orla Kiely and bought myself a new Orla Kiely bag. I’ve had my eye on the Full Bloom’ print Medium Messenger Bag from the SS17 collection and when I saw it had been reduced I treated myself. I love the white multi stem print over the full bloom print and the contrasting trim makes for a really eye catching bag. It’s roomy enough for my iPhone, iPad and Olympus so I am ready for some blogging events I have lined up over the next few weeks.

On Friday we all went along to the annual Scouting BBQ to see my son awarded the Beaver of the Year trophy. He didn’t know he was getting it but we did and it was so lovely hearing his leader telling everyone how helpful and keen he is.

Beavers

On Saturday my 5 year old attended our local Rainbows 30th birthday party. This was a pretty epic event which I somehow ended up volunteering at. She had a great time but I was so happy that yesterday we were able to relax at home. We visited our local Farmer’s Market (the first time in 18 months!), stocked up on some delicious treats and visited The Fairy Maker (more on that another day!).

Rainbows

This week is so busy I have had to write a list for each day to make sure I’m in the right place at the right time! Wish me luck.
