West Kennet Long Barrow

Monday happy things {Week 134}

Posted on April 24, 2017 by jenny

What a difference a week makes.Β A week ago we stood on top of West Kennet Long Barrow in Wiltshire and enjoyed the Bank Holiday.Β The next day the children went back to school and I missed them and felt a bit lost at home on my own. It’s funny how quickly you get used to being surrounded by people.

We spent the weekend removing the carpet from my son’s room and laying laminate down. I really hate carpet and it was down when we bought the house 4 years ago soΒ it had to go. We also gave the room a bit of a deep clean and now it looks lovely. Today I need to start moving all his books and Lego back in.

Orla Kiely cars print bedding

As my son has a smartened up bedroom I thought he deserved some new bedding. I bought a gorgeous Orla Kiely duvet set featuring her classic Cars print from TK Maxx. This was one of the first prints I bought Β and I still love it. I thought it would be suitable for either of my children and they’re already squabbling about who gets to use it. I really need to be kept away from TK Maxx.

My son has his first wobbly tooth! This seems like a pretty huge milestone. He was complaining that his teeth hurt and when we looked there were two adult teeth pushing through!

The children were happy to see their friends again although they found the school routine pretty tiring. This week all their after school clubs are going to be back on so I imagine there will be lots of early nights for them. They started the week wearing their Rainbow and Beavers uniform to school as they are celebrating St George today.

Have a great week everyone!

    The bedding looks great! And I hate carpet as well, when looking for apartments I specifically avoided those that had it! πŸ˜…

    I hate it when the kids go back to school, I miss my boy so much. We didn’t start back until yesterday though.

    The bedding is wonderful! I just bought a similar set for my grandson and he loves it. Good luck with back to school. I remember it always took us a few days to get adjusted and acclimated to a busier schedule again.
