My children have settled really well into the new school year. My 4 year old has just started Reception but only went for morning last week. She has been really happy every day I picked her up which was a huge relief. The only thing she didn’t like was drinking her milk so I have to cancel this for her!
The weather was certainly full of extremes last week. The first half of the week was unseasonally hot and we didn’t really want to do much. Luckily some school friends invited us over for a playdate and the children all loved running through the sprinkler. Sadly the Indian Summer came to an abrupt end with the longest storm I have ever had the misfortune to try and sleep through!
My sister came to visit on Friday and we squeezed in a visit to see Bridget Jones’ Baby. I felt like I grew up a little with Bridget Jones so was happy I was able to see the film as soon as it came out. I knew my husband wouldn’t want to see it although there were a few men at our screening. The film was brilliant and I really enjoyed going to see it.
On Saturday I spent the day at The Handmade Fair with my sister. I loves attending The Handmade Fair last year so was really looking forward to another day there. We had so much fun trying lots of new crafts, shopping and picking up some new craft supplies.
Work has started on our kitchen in preparation for our new kitchen installation (which starts today!). We had more ceiling lights put in; speakers for our SONOS so I can listen to the radio whilst I cook; a smaller radiator so we can squeeze in extra cupboards; surplus gas pipes capped and our hob disconnected. We have had a steady stream of tradesmen and I would love to say that stage is over but it has sadly just begun.
The Handmade Fair sounds like it was a nice day out, the weather couldn’t make up its mind last week!
