There seen to be lots of things going on at the moment which I feel quite patriotic about. Andy Murray winning at Wimbledon for the second time, Chris Froome becoming Britain’s first three-time winner of the Tour de France, and hopefully lots of British success at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio next month.
So I thought it was good time to share a quick and easy tutorial for my red white and blue circle bunting. I used a Sizzix die and machine to do all the hard work for me, but this could easily be done by hand.
How to make red white and blue felt circle bunting
I used sheets of red, white and blue felt, a round die and my Sizzix Big Shot Express machine.
This is a new machine which is motorised and makes cutting out so easy! I used it to cut out a number of circles using the circle die. There were 3 different sizes of circle on this die. When I had a large pile of circles I moved on to the next step.
I stitched through the centre of each circle with my sewing machine, joining each circle to the previous one to make a long string of bunting. I made sure that the colours alternated, as well as the different circle sizes, where possible. Sorry, no photos of this step!
I love making bunting and I think you’ll agree that red, white and blue looks stunning.
It’s currently draped along our mantle piece all ready for the next great British success!
