We’ve kept our Easter decorations really simple this year. We have our white seasonal tree up and it’s decorated with clear plastic eggs filled with pastel coloured pom poms and mini eggs. I found some ceramic eggs in the craft shop and thought these would be a great addition to our tree. They came in a little kit with some paint but I kew they would look much better if I decorated them with temporary tattoos instead.

To tattoo Easter eggs you will need ceramic or polystyrene eggs, temporary tattoos, water and a brush.

How to make temporary tattoo Easter eggs

Choose your tattoo’s and carefully cut around them if necessary. I already had these beautiful bird tattoos from the Stocking Box subscription box I reviewed here. They were the perfect size for decorating eggs. I chose four designs and cut round them.

To apply the temporary tattoo to your egg, carefully remove the clear or paper backing from your tattoo and place the tattoo face down on your egg.

Carefully brush the tattoo with enough water to lift it from the paper. Gently press it down on the egg for a few seconds and smooth it down with your fingers.

Remove the paper and your tattoo should be stuck onto the egg. This is a really simple craft but so much fun!

The ceramic eggs had loops on the top to hang them but I made some more decorated eggs using my children’s tattoos and polystyrene eggs. These worked just as well and I made my own loops with a piece of ribbon and a pin so we could hang them up.

I also made some with My Little Pony and Star Wars tattoos which the children loved. In fact, I kept going until I couldn’t find any more temporary tattoos!
