Our Summer holiday round up (Week 2)

Posted on August 6, 2014August 6, 2014 by jenny

The summer holidays are rushing by very quickly. I enjoyed looking back at the first week of the holidays so thought I would do it all again.

Big Brother and I attended our last The Creation Station session. I’m not sure he realises he won’t be going again (due to starting Reception in September) but we’ve had a great time and enjoyed spending time together too.

He also had a fun playdate with a friend from nursery. The weather was really hot so they played in the paddling pool and I think he enjoyed a little time away from us.

Big Brother, Little Sis and I hopped on the tube to attend the launch of Go Create Eco Craft kits at the fabulous Drink, Shop & Do. We had a brilliant time and I will write a whole post about the fun kits soon.

I’ve been super crafty over the last few days. First of all I won a stash of Dear Stella Fat Quarters from Quilt Now magazine. They arrived very quick and I am longing to make something from them but I know I need to wait and find the perfect project. I signed up to Very Berry’s ATC fabric swap 4. I took part in the first fabric ATC swap and I’ve missed out on the subsequent ones so I signed up as soon as I saw sign ups were open.

Dear Stella fabric

We’ve enjoyed a few days in sunny Devon staying at the beautiful The Magdalen Chapter hotel in Exeter. The weather has been lovely so we’ve filled our time with trips to the beach and charity shopping (for me). Big Brother has been learning to swim in Grandad’s swimming pool and Little Sis just about dipped her toes in a couple of times. We managed to squeeze in some yummy fish and chips too.

At the weekend we went to an amazing car boot sale in Exeter where I bought a vintage Lloyd Loom laundry bin. It’s been painted white but I’m going to strip it and use my favourite Annie Sloan chalk paint on it and put it in my daughters’ bedroom. I love Lloyd Loom furniture and I can’t wait to transform it as I did with the vintage nursing chair.

Hope you’re all enjoying the Summer holidays too!

I am a huge fan of Lloyd Loom as well and have had my eye on a storage chest for a while now x

It’s been a lovely school holiday so far hasn’t it? I think the weather makes all the difference. I’m also very jealous of that Lloyd Loom chair – what a find.

Oooh you have been staying juts down the road from me – I am 20 mins from Exeter! The Magdalen is gorgeous, as are the local fish and chips!

That hotel in Exeter looks lovely! I am always on the look out for great hotels. The fabric swap looks interesting as I have recently started to see too.

That hotel looks amazing! Sounds like you have all had a really good time so far. I look forward to seeing what you do with the Lloyd Loom laundry bin
