Hand stencilled gifts for Christmas

A couple of weeks ago I bought a lovely book called Winter Wonderland Stencils which contains 20 reuseable festive stencils. I had grand plans of using them on the windows to make our house look really festive. The only fail was that I’ve been unable to find any cans of fake snow.

Instead I started Plan B – homemade gifts! The stencils are really fun with a great vintage vibe, perfect for making a wintry wonderland with sparkly snowflakes, a smiling Santa, snowy trees, reindeer and more (window space permitting!).

Whoever designed the book has been clever as each stencil is perforated which means you can tear out the stencil, use it, wash it, then store it in the clever pocket at the back for next year! The book has tons of potential and so far I’ve whipped up a couple of tshirts for the children. I used Dylon fabric paint which I’ve used before and never lets me down.

I’ve also made a cute little tote bag for my sister which features the words ‘happy holidays’ and a tea towel for my mum with a fun gingerbread house on it. I made them all last night and it felt good to make something handmade (finally!).
