Win a copy of My first knitting book

Posted on July 15, 2013August 30, 2022 by jenny

My nan taught me to knit when I was younger. She used to make me an unlimited supply of clothes for my dolls but I must admit she was so quick and never dropped a stitch that I didn’t keep it up.

Children who love colourful yarn and being creative will love the 35 great projects in My First Knitting Book. The book is aimed at 7 years and over and helps  explore the different areas of knitting through four chapters. Each project has a level of difficulty from 1 to 3 which is perfect for develop your knitting skills.

In Cosy knits there are fun projects to keep you warm; Stylish knits includes decorative buttons, a phone cover, pencil case or leg warmers; Home knits has lovely projects to embellish your home from a hot water bottle cover to a toy basket and Fun knits will let you showcase your skills with some brilliant projects to keep for yourself or giveaway to friends. The knitted stethoscope is just brilliant and I can’t resist the knitted sheriff’s star badge as my son adores Woody from Toy Story. Little Sis has already picked the Ladybug buddies so I can’t wait to make them for her too.

The book contains a great mix of traditional and contemporary projects so there should be something to appeal to everyone in My First Knitting Book. There’s also a handy section on material and techniques as well as the templates for a couple of projects. My First Knitting Book by Susan Akass is published by CICO Kidz at £9.99, and is available from all good bookshops or call 01256 302699.
