80 Poems by Roger McGough

Win a copy of 80 Poems by Roger McGough

Posted on October 9, 2017 by jenny

80 sees eighty favourite poems from one of the nation’s best-loved poets. Roger McGough, brought together for the first time in a hugely enjoyable new volume. Poems include The Power of Poets, Apostrophe, Snuggles, Teapet, Trees Are Great and The Rolling Meatball.

Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, always inventive and often unexpected, the enormous variety of poems will never cease to amaze and delight children of all ages. 80 is a wonderful collection, truly with something for everyone, to be enjoyed again and again, read together or independently, at home or in a classroom.

Published around National Poetry Day and in celebration on McGough’s 80th birthday, 80 marks both the long and successful career of a much-loved poet, and an opportunity to engage a whole new generation with the increasingly popular, accessible and fresh face of poetry.

Roger McGough has published many books of poems for children and adults, and both his Collected Poems (2004) and Selected Poems (2006) are available in Penguin. He presents Poetry Please on Radio 4 and is President of the Poetry Society. 80 by Roger McGough was published on the 5th October priced £6.99 by Puffin Poetry.
