Christmas shopping with The 2019 Christmas Good Toy Guide

Christmas shopping with The 2019 Christmas Good Toy Guide

Posted on November 27, 2019September 30, 2021 by jenny

Disclosure – this is a collaborative post

The Christmas countdown has really begun in our house. We are all ready for Advent which marks the start of the Christmas period for us. We all enjoy the festive period and I have to admit I’ve already put the Christmas bedding on our beds and baked my first batch of mince pies!

It’s pretty natural that children have high expectations of the presents they are going to receive. My daughter is in Year 3 and wrote a letter to Father Christmas yesterday. I had to give her a stamped envelope as her class will be walking to the post box to post their letters together. She asked for an iPhone 11 and, whilst I don’t think that’s going to happen, she will probably be opening some more Geomag to add to her collection this year.

If you’re in need of some inspiration, whether you’re buying for your own children or someone else’s, then look no further than The 2019 Christmas Good Toy Guide. Have you heard of it before?

The 2019 Christmas Good Toy Guide

Brought to you by the independent experts at Fundamentally Children, The 2019 Christmas Good Toy Guide is here to help you find the perfect toy for you. The Guide includes over 50 #GoodToys, all tested by children and endorsed by experts, so you know it’s a review you can trust. From babies to tweens, scooters to family board games, there’s something for everyone.

There are several reasons why I would recommend the Christmas Good Toy Guide to find the perfect present!

Firstly it is an independent resource that you can trust. The experts behind the Guide don’t sell toys, they just review them.

Secondly, the guide is easy to use, with categories divided by age (0-2 years, 3-5 years, 6-8 years and 9 years & up).

Thirdly, each recommended toy is graded by toy testers, and features fun, skills development, ease of use and price.

Finally, the Balanced Play Pyramid suggests what kind of toys should be prioritised over other types.

Christmas shopping with The 2019 Christmas Good Toy Guide

The whole family has had a good look at the Good Toy Guide and the children were delighted to see some much-loved toys they already have, including Dobble, and Pepper Mint: Treehouse Engineering Adventure. They also saw some toys they will be adding to their own Christmas lists. I was pleased to get some new ideas too, and love the idea of a subscription to First News, the independent national newspaper for children.

I managed to get hold of a hard copy of The 2019 Christmas Good Toy Guide but you can find all of the information on their website.

This guide looks really ideal, as it has some choices in it that have been endorsed or vetted. Toys are so hard to buy sometimes, so it is a great way to look at them straight away instead of trawling through sites.
