Family Life Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 246}

I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Five Happy Things {Week 246}

It was another busy week for my children with Science Week for my youngest and Sports Week for the eldest. My 9 year old was appointed official photographer as he couldn’t compete in anything with his broken wrist. I think he is pretty fed up with his cast now as we’ve had to stop most of his extra curricular clubs and activities. He has an appointment at the Fracture Clinic on Tuesday so hopefully his cast will be replaced with a splint.

Friday night we headed to our local Scouts Hut for the annual awards evening and BBQ. The kids had so much fun as it started off with some games in the garden and finished off with a Bouncy Castle. They enjoyed playing with their friends way past bedtime.

On Saturday we went and watched Toy Story 4. We were all really excited about going to see it and spent last week watching all the previous Toy Story films. It was so lovely to go and watch it and we all loved it. The cinema was packed with families watching it, I’d probably go and watch it again without the kids as my son talked all the way through it!

I’ve been working my way through the Spring Craftpod subscription box as I’ve already ordered the next Quarters one. There were two craft projects – one to make a pincushion, and the other to make a pretty fabric collage of a bird. To be honest neither of these projects totally caught my attention but sometimes it’s good to have a challenge. I’m hoping to finish the little pinnie so I can start on the Summer Sampler from Pretty Fabrics and Trims.

Over the weekend we had a lovely walk in Swakeleys Park in Ickenham. We were trying to head out of the area but the local traffic was so bad we decided to turn round and stay local. We hadn’t visited the park for a few years and were excited to see an outdoor gym and that the children’s playground had been updated. We hid some of our Fortnite painted rocks and found one which we’ve taken to re-hide elsewhere.

Have a great week everyone!
