Family Life Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 233}

Hope you had a great weekend. I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Five Happy Things {Week 233}

Last week my son celebrated his ninth birthday. Mondays are our busy hectic day but the kids insisted on going to all their after school clubs. It meant my son was still opening presents at bedtime but he really enjoyed the day. I already mentioned he had a wonderful Lego themed cake and received lots of Lego Movie 2 sets. Yesterday we took him and some of his friends bowling at the new Hollywood Bowling in intu Watford as a birthday treat, followed by lunch at Five Guys. It was loads of fun for him.

I don’t work on Mondays and decided to do something special with my free day. Rather than the usual food shopping and life admin, I took myself off to Westfield London and spent some of my wages on myself for a change. I bought some new shoes and a few little things, including BOOKS.

I hardly blogged last week as I was just trying to enjoy my son’s birthday and my own too. I received some lovely presents for my birthday including lots of craft books and craft kits. My husband gave me the Spring Craftpod box and my mum gave me a 3 month tea and biscuit subscription box.

On Saturday we enjoyed a day out in London with a trip to Tower Bridge and The Monument. The children loved the glass walkway at Tower Bridge and the 311 steps to the top of The Monument. We always love exploring London and we also squeezed in a trip to play around the fountains at Somerset House with a final stop at Milk Train for their infamous ice-creams.

There was also crafting time! In fact my crafting mojo seems to have finally come back as I finished my Moda Matchbox Mini, tried punch needle (not sure I’ll finish what I started!), and spent some time working on my Shipping Forecast quilt.

Have a great week everyone!
