Family Life Monday Happy List

Five Happy Things {Week 229}

Monday morning again. Hope you had a great weekend (and half term too!). I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Five Happy Things {Week 229}

We seem to have packed in an awful lot to half term. Now the kids are back at school it’s strange to think about just how much we managed in a week. We had some lovely days out including the Anglo Saxon Kingdoms exhibition at the British Library. We followed this with lunch with my husband at Franco Manca, a place I’ve wanted to try for ages. The pizza was amazing and everyone enjoyed trying somewhere new.

making slime at Hobbycraft

I love the kids craft workshops that Hobbycraft run. I booked the kids places on the slime filled eggs at our local Hobbycraft. Although they’ve made slime before it’s always fun and this time it came with a twist, as they added small animals to their slime and put them in plastic egg. It was a bit of a strange mash up but the kids loved it. Then we treated ourselves to a look round Hobbycraft and picked up some Easter crafts.

You can’t have failed to notice that we’ve reviewed a lot of toys over half term. We were gifted some wonderful toys and activity sets which were just perfect for my children. You can find our review of the Pretty Pixels Eraser MakerPoopsie Sparkly Critters, the L.O.L Surprise Fashion Factory gameCrate Creatures Surprise Barf Buddies and So Bomb DIY Vanity Case. My kids know how lucky they are to review toys and we had fun making unboxing videos of some of them too.

We did have some quieter moments too. The weather has been amazing so we spent a lot of time in the garden. Our homemade mud kitchen got played with a lot, it seems the kids aren’t too old to make mud pies yet! We watched some films including Norm of the North which was good.

Rock Up Watford

We finished off half term with a visit to see the snowdrops at Cliveden, a local National Trust property. We decided to re-join the National Trust as we really missed it so we can have lots more lovely family days out. The children went to a party at Rock Up at Watford yesterday so they had plenty of exercise over the weekend – I’m glad they’ve gone back to school for a rest!
