Five Happy Things {week 227}

Posted on February 11, 2019 by jenny

Monday morning again. Hope you had a great weekend whatever you got up to. We are counting down the days until half term – this has been a lovely, short half term! I love to start the week by writing Five Happy Things. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Five Happy Things {week 227}

We were kindly sent a bundle of How To Train Your Dragon toys to review. I shared them on Instagram but we couldn’t resist making a video for our YouTube channel. Then we thought we may as well write a blog post about them too. Have you seen the film yet? It’s lovely and would make a great half term treat.

We are enjoying the longer days. They seem to give us more energy, especially after school. We have been coming home and crafting which has been fun. Last week we shared a free printable to make Valentine pencil toppers for a class gift, as well as a shamrock paper wreath if you are getting an early start on your St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

I have wanted to go to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour for years. I didn’t realise you had to book so far in advance but yesterday we finally got to visit, and it was amazing! We were there for 4 hours and the kids had a great time. Hopefully I can write a post about it soon.

The kids have been excited about The Lego Movie 2 ever since they started spotting the toys in the shops. We took them after school on Friday as a special treat. I didn’t think the film was as good as the first one but they loved it. When they got home they found all their old Lego Duplo bricks and spent the weekend building strange Lego creations!

There was some time to get busy in the kitchen too. Little Sis wanted to make some chocolate Hatchimal nests which she saw in a magazine. She just loves chocolate so enjoyed making and eating them. I made some banana bread which is so quick and easy, making for a wonderful weekend treat.

Not long until half term now – have a great week!

    My kids are desperate to go and see the new LEGO movie – it’s a shame it’s not as good but I reckon they’ll be the same as yours and love it anyway!

    I’m jealous you got to visit the Warner Bros Studios. I’ve been to the one in LA and I’ve also been to the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter in Universal Studios/IOA Orlando and its amazing

    Ooh we still need to book the Warner Bros Studio Tour, I bought open tickets for my boyfriend’s birthday but we haven’t had the time to book a date yet. Can’t wait! Shame that the Lego Movie 2 wasn’t as good as the first one, I haven’t seen it yet.

    The how to train your dragon toys sound amazing. Definitely something my nieces and nephews would love.
