Simple New Year Party Hat Treats

I hope you had a lovely Christmas Day, however you spent it. It turned out to be a bit of a Lego-fest for our family, with everyone receiving major Lego gifts (except for me!). We are looking forward to a few quiet days at home, building Lego and eating chocolates. However, my thoughts are also turning to New Year and I wanted to share a fun New Year recipe to make, whether you are entertaining friends and family or spending the evening at home with a few loved ones.

Ingredients to make New Year Party Hat treats:
Regular shaped ice cream cones
Semi-sweet chocolate chips
White decorator icing
Silver and gold sprinkles

How to make New Year Party Hat treats:

Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl. Heat on defrost mode for 1 minute, stir, and heat for 30 second intervals until the chocolate is completely melted.

Dip the ice cream cones into the melted chocolate, and place them on a wax paper lined baking sheet to dry and harden.

Once hardened, use white decorator’s icing to draw the pattern of your choice on your party hats.

White the icing is still wet, apply silver or gold sparkles to each party hat treat.

Let the icing harden, and serve immediately, or store in an airtight container.
