Monday Mindfulness – 5 Happy Things

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

I love this time of year as there is so much going on. I enjoy my Christmas crafting too and had fun creating some Chocolate Christmas Tree Pretzels. You can find the full recipe here and do let me know if you try it.

This weekend we finally put our Christmas tree and lights up. The children have been wanting to do it for weeks but I really dislike putting them up too early. I’ve resisted buying anything new this year so the house looks pretty much like it did last December. We already have a string of Christmas cards up and bought some large tins of chocolates to enjoy.

Over the weekend we managed to watch The Christmas Chronicles on Netflix whilst we were decorating the tree. Lots of my friends have been talking about it and the trailer looked good. My children loved it, there are lots of funny moments and it kept my two quiet for at least an hour. I know we’ll be adding it to our festive favourites and watching it again.

On Saturday we had booked a trip with Hillingdon Narrowboat Association to go a canal trip and visit Father Christmas. We had a lovely trip and the children were really excited with the canal boat and Father Christmas. The trip goes from outside the Coy Carp pub so we made sure we booked a table for lunch after our ride.

Yesterday we were lucky to visit Father Christmas again and take part in the Santa and the Christmas Elves Experience at Winchester Science Centre. My children love science so we had fun exploring the Science Centre and watching the different shows. You can read our full review here.

Have a great week everyone.
