Monday mindfulness - Summer Holidays {Week 3}

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the school summer holidays. What a difference a week makes. We started off the week with a heatwave, experienced torrential rain and storms and are now enjoying decent summer temperatures. Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Monday mindfulness – Summer holidays edition

On Monday we popped to Hobbycraft to take part in one of their kids craft workshops. We’ve been to a few but this time they made foam animal masks. They had lots of fun trying something new, the workshops are always really good. My son made a superhero mask and my daughter chose the fox design.

We’ve had time for lots of crafting which has been good. We really enjoyed the latest mud + bloom nature and gardening sub box and have been making our own squishies with the Smooshins Surprise Maker Kit (which I can’t wait to tell you more about). We’ve also been busy with Duck Tape, crafting colourful luggage labels.

We’ve been hiding some of our stash of painted rocks in our local area, mainly to make room to craft some new ones! I love seeing them posted on our local Facebook page, especially when our friends post them! My 8 year old has been busy making a new set of painted rocks to celebrate James and the Giant Peach which is the theme for Roald Dahl Day this year.

The children were both invited to a really fun laser tag party last week. It was really lovely for them to catch up with friends and they had great fun running around soft play and shooting each other!
