A little slow sewing

plush sloth

This year is all about finishing things. I write that because I am so terrible at starting projects but not finishing them. For Christmas my mum bought me the cutest little sewing kit to make a sloth. I adore sloths, they are my favourite animal. Unfortunately it took me a while to start stitching this little kit.

The DIY embroidered doll kit from kiriki embroidery¬†was to make a little sloth. There were a few different animals to choose from but I couldn’t resist the little sloth. I was surprised how small the box was but it contained a printed fabric panel, 5 colours of embroidery thread and stuffing.

The only thing not included was an embroidery hoop but I had plenty of these. I placed the fabric panel in the embroidery hoop, and snipped a piece of each thread and placed them on the guide, and started stitching.

The pattern was easy to follow although I had to look up how to do a chain stitch as I’d forgotten.

He’s only a few inches tall but he’s super cute and sits next to the felt sloth I stitched earlier this year, along with the papercut sloth I made.

OMG, this is the cutest sloth I have ever seen and it looks really easy to do as well. I am not that good at sewing but tempted to try this.
