Family Life Monday Happy List

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

Old Warden Aerodrome

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

The weather was amazing in the first part of the week. We made a new routine of coming home after school pick up, eating ice creams in the garden and chatting about the kids school day. We’ve spent some time tidying up the garden and cleaning the mud kitchen. I’m trying to forget the size of the frog that leaped out at me yesterday when I was tidying up out there.

My daughter took part in her Dinosaur assembly at school. She received a special achievement certificate for learning her dinosaur word which was so tricky that I can’t even write it down. She loves learning about dinosaurs so it was great that she was so engaged at school.

We spent Saturday at Old Warden Aerodrome as my husband and children wanted to fly the model planes they’ve been building over the last year. We go every year and it’s always a lovely day out. They have a great children’s playground which means the children love going there.

We finally got round to seeing Black Panther which was amazing. I’m so glad we got to see it at last. I thought the costumes were really good and loved the plot. There are so many good films coming out at the moment. I’m looking forward to seeing Solo and the new Jurassic World one too.

With the longer days we’ve had more time to craft after school which has been lovely. There have been some fun Royal Wedding crafts, such as our craft stick union flag activity, but our tissue paper unicorn horn was pretty colourful and sparkly too.

Can you believe there are only 2 more weeks of Spring before the official start of Summer? This year is really flying by.

Have a great week everyone,

Jenny

I love it when the weather gets nice as well as we spend more time in the garden. What a great idea, having a mud kitchen in the garden, we might do one as well.

Having good weather gives us all a little better mindset, doesn’t it? We practically live in the garden or go on spare of the moment adventures. We have never had a mud kitchen but I have a feeling my youngest would LOVE one!

It’s definitely the best thing we’ve ever made for the kids. A few spare pots and pans in the garden would do though!
