Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

I passed my training and am now officially a Section Assistant at Beaver Scouts. The training wasn’t very hard, just a couple of courses and an interview. I’m excited to continue doing exactly what I did before but not with a job title! I guess I should think about buying the uniform too….

I’ve been trying really hard to make time for my hobbies. Last week I finished some paper cuts, stitched a sweet little bunny from my Mollie Makes magazine and baked some delicious gingerbread biscuits. I also set up a lot of crafts and activities for my children after school. It felt good to make more time for these kinds of activities.

Lego Jurassic World 75929 Carnotaurus Gyrosphere Escape

We had a bit of a Lego splurge over the weekend. We’re all lego obsessed and I managed to collect all but 1 of the latest Lego Minifigs Series 18, the Party series. This might be one of my favourite series and I have all of them except for the 1978 Police Office which is the super rare one, there is only 1 in each box. I’m trying not to buy one off evil eBay and we’re all getting pretty good at feeling blind bags. Perhaps this will be the week I complete my collection. My daughter bought Lego Jurassic World 75929 Carnotaurus Gyrosphere Escape as she loves dinosaurs, my son bought Lego Ninjago 70639 Street Race of Snake Jaguar and my husband bought me Lego Go Brick Me so I can make myself in Lego!

On Saturday my son took part in a 5 a side football tournament with Cubs. His team came third so he was really happy. He’s not officially ‘swimming up’ until this evening but he seems to really enjoy Cubs and we’ve already bought his uniform. Our district is organising a Family Camp in June which we’re seriously considering taking part in. I haven’t camped since I was at school so the idea feels me with fear but I think it could be an amazing weekend.

The weather was really disappointing all weekend which meant we didn’t do too much. We stayed indoors and played lots of games and managed a quick walk around Rickmansworth Aquadrome. We hid some of our latest Ninjago painted rocks and warmed up with a hot chocolate in their lovely cafe.

Have a great week everyone!

I can’t believe how tiny Lego pieces have got – or I might have got a lot bigger! Some of those sets are so complex and once you’ve assembled them you have to keep all the bits together. Currently Ieuan’s collection is an enormous mish-mash all in one box. I still keep managing to tread on bits of it though!
