Easter treats on Netflix

Posted on March 15, 2018 by jenny

Who’s excited for Easter? Easter weekend will creep up on us before we know it… and with the family on their way for the roast, Netflix has come up with a list of titles to watch with the kids (or alone!) while your meat is slowly roasting – the heavier the joint, the more you get to binge!

(2-4 people) 500g leg of lamb – 30 mins cooking time, 10-15 resting – TOTAL TIME: 45 mins
Two episodes of Trolls: The Beat Goes On! S2

(4-6 people) 1kg of lamb – 1 hour cooking time, 10-15 resting – TOTAL TIME: 1 hour, 15 mins
Two episodes of Dinotrux Supercharged S2 + one episode of Spirit Riding Free S4

(6-8 people) 2kg of lamb – 2 hour cooking time, 10-15 resting – TOTAL TIME: 2 hours, 15 mins
Two episodes of Jessica Jones S2 + one episode of A Series of Unfortunate Events S2

I think it’s wishful thinking that I’ll have any time to catch up on  Marvel’s Jessica Jones! Have you watched it yet? I know Season 2 has landed but I’m still catching up on Season 1.

Easter treats on Netflix

Anyway, once lunch is over I’ll have my fingers crossed that I get to sit down, enjoy some chocolate and perhaps catch some of the new content on Netflix. Did you know they’ve added some great content including A Series of Unfortunate Events (Season 2), Spirit Riding Free (Season 4), Dinotrux Supercharged (Season 2) and Ice Age: The Meltdown.

My children loved Guardians of the Galaxy so I’m excited we’ll soon be able to watch Guardians of the Galaxy which is out on the 20th March.

Alias Grace

I’ve just binge watched Alias Grace. After all the hype of The Handmaid’s Tail (which I didn’t fancy watching) I did like the trailer for Alias Grace. Based on the notorious true story of Grace Marks, a 19th-century Irish immigrant and servant who became a “celebrated murderess”. She was accused of killing Thomas Kinnear and his housekeeper Nancy Montgomery in northern Canada.

Alias Grace is a six-part period drama based on the unsolvable mystery. I enjoyed watching the story unfold but was never sure if Grace abetted the murders of her boss and his housekeeper/lover, or was a victim of the Victorian justice system.

I thought it was beautifully shot and am very glad I didn’t have to live through those times.

At the other end of the scale we’ve been enjoying the latest season of Designated Survivor. There are new episodes every Thursday although I’m not very patient, I much prefer having a whole season to watch when I want!

What have you been enjoying lately? If you have any recommendations I would love to hear them.

Ah I love that you’ve worked out the timings of some programmes against cooking the food! Great idea 🙂

We don’t have the time to watch telly when the program is actually on, so we watch everything on Netflix and on demand. A life changing innovation for parents with young children, I must say.
