Monday happy things {Week 153}

It’s feels like I’ve had a bit of a blogging break. You may not have noticed but I’ve not been posting as much or sharing on my social channels. I’ve enjoyed some quiet time and indulged my hobbies for once.

It’s time for my weekly Monday happy things post – my Summer holidays edition (week 6).

We started the week away thanks to a long weekend in Devon. We had amazing weather so it was perfect to be at the beach for once and not in London. The kids swam in Grandad’s pool and we went to the beach and ate fish and chips – bliss.

Although it’s always lovely to be away it’s also nice to come home. We’ve had a great few days at home for the last week of the summer holidays. The children played with their toys, finished the Summer Reading Challenge, got back to school haircuts, found Lego in the charity shop and caught up with friends at birthday parties. My mum visited and I think they’ve pretty much played *all* the board games with her.

Last week we ventured out to a Kids Craft Club at our local Hobbycraft. The kids made pipe cleaner wands and we stocked up on Halloween craft materials. We made our first haul video which you can watch on our YouTube channel.

My mum looked after the children whilst we went to watch Tom Chaplin at Pizza Express Live. I’ve always loved Keane and seen them perform lots of times but this was the first time I’d seen Tom perform as a solo artist. It was a great evening.

Over the weekend we visited Ickenham Model Railway to enjoy a ride on the miniature trains. It felt like ages since we had last been there but the kids really enjoyed the experience.

    I cannot wait until my daughter is a bit older and I can take her to craft workshops and things like that.
